The Raypak 017124 is an E3T electric pool and spa heater rated at 24 kW on 240V, roughly 81,900 BTU. It is the largest in the E3T line and heats with an electric element rather than gas, so there is no gas line, no venting, and no combustion.

Features

  • 24 kW output on 240V, approximately 81,900 BTU
  • Largest output in the E3T line
  • Electric resistance heating, no gas supply or flue required
  • Titanium heating element resists corrosion in salt and chlorinated water
  • Digital temperature control
  • Suited to swim spas, small pools, and commercial spa duty

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the E3T a heat pump?

No. It is an electric resistance heater. A heat pump moves heat from the air and uses far less electricity per BTU. The E3T converts electricity directly to heat, which is simpler and cheaper to buy but more expensive to run.

What is this size good for?

24 kW handles swim spas, small pools, and commercial spa duty. It is the largest E3T and the most demanding electrically.

Which E3T size should I choose?

The line runs 5.5 kW (017121), 11 kW (017122), 15 kW (017123), and 24 kW (017124). Larger output heats faster but demands more electrical service, which is usually the real constraint.

Will my electrical service support 24 kW?

Often not without an upgrade. A 24 kW load at 240V draws 100 amps. Have an electrician confirm service capacity before you order, since this is the most common reason an electric heater purchase falls through.

Why choose electric over gas?

No gas line, no venting, no combustion clearances, and it can go indoors or in tight spaces where a gas heater cannot. The tradeoff is running cost.

Does it need professional installation?

Yes. It is a high amperage 240V appliance in a wet environment, so it needs a licensed electrician and bonding per code.
