Frequently Asked Questions
Why does elevation matter on a pool heater?
Air is thinner at altitude, so the orifice has to be matched to your elevation band or the heater runs rich and loses output. This unit covers 0 to 4,500 ft, which is a wider range than the standard configurations.
Why choose cupro-nickel over copper?
Cupro-nickel resists corrosion far better in saltwater pools, low pH water, and high flow installations. On balanced chlorinated water, copper costs less and performs the same.
What size pool does it suit?
Roughly 20,000 to 25,000 gallons in warm climates. In cooler climates or on an exposed pool with no cover, size down to around 15,000 to 18,000 gallons for comfortable recovery.
Is it natural gas or propane?
Natural gas. Fuel is set by model.
What are the larger options?
The 266A and 336A chassis step up from here. Gas heater sizing is about recovery speed, so a larger unit heats from cold faster.
Does it need professional installation?
Yes. Gas sizing, venting, electrical, and local code make this a licensed installer job.
