The Pentair 356162Z IntelliFlo3 1.5 HP Drive Kit is the genuine OEM replacement drive for the 1.5 THP IntelliFlo3 VSF and IntelliPro3 VSF pumps. If your pump motor is fine but the drive has failed, this kit puts the pump back in service without replacing the whole unit. It includes the drive body and the mounting hardware. It is the drive only. The drive cover with the control panel is not included and is sold separately as part 356214Z.

Which pumps does the 356162Z fit?

Any 1.5 THP IntelliFlo3 VSF or IntelliPro3 VSF: 011065, 011066, 011067, 011068, 013065, 013066, 013067 and 013068. It does not fit the 3 HP models. For those, use the 356163Z.

How do I know if I have the 1.5 HP or 3 HP pump?

Check the model number on the pump label. 011065 through 011068 and 013065 through 013068 are 1.5 HP. 011075 through 011078 and 013075 through 013078 are 3 HP.

Does it include the drive cover with the buttons?

No. This is the drive only. Reuse your existing cover or order the 356214Z drive cover assembly.

Does it fit the original IntelliFlo VS or VSF?

No. The IntelliFlo3 drive is a different platform. For the original IntelliFlo VS, i1, i2 and VST, use the 356879Z. For the original VSF, use the 356922Z.

How do I know the drive failed and not the motor?

Common drive symptoms are no display, no response at the cover, error codes that persist after a power cycle, or the pump not starting while the motor turns freely by hand. If the pump hums, trips the breaker or the motor is seized, the motor is the more likely fault. Call us with the symptoms and the model number and we will help you confirm before you order.

Is this hard to install?

It is a straightforward swap. Cut power at the breaker, disconnect the drive cable at the cover, remove the four cover screws, unbolt the old drive body, set the new one in place and reverse the steps. Pentair recommends a licensed electrician or pool professional, and the warranty may require it.
