The Pentair 261055 Hi-Flow 2" Multiport Valve is the top-mount multiport control valve used on compatible Pentair sand filters. The multiport design puts filter, backwash, rinse, waste, recirculate and closed positions on a single lever, so routine filter maintenance is a matter of turning one handle.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which filters does the 261055 fit?
It is the 2" Hi-Flow top-mount multiport for compatible Pentair sand filters. Valve mounting patterns and port sizes differ between filter families, so check your existing valve part number or filter model before ordering. Send us your filter model and we will confirm.
What is the difference between the 261055 and the 261152?
The 261055 is the 2" top-mount Hi-Flow multiport. The 261152 is the 2" side-mount version for DE filters. They are not interchangeable, so match the valve to how your filter is plumbed.
What do the valve positions do?
Filter is normal operation. Backwash reverses flow to flush debris to waste. Rinse settles the bed after backwashing. Waste bypasses the filter and sends water straight out, useful for vacuuming heavy debris. Recirculate bypasses the media entirely. Closed shuts flow off for service.
Do I need to turn the pump off before changing positions?
Always. Moving a multiport valve with the pump running can damage the internal spider gasket and, on a pressurised system, is a safety risk.
Why does my valve leak to waste when set to filter?
That is the classic sign of a worn spider gasket inside the valve. On an older valve, replacing the whole assembly is often more economical than chasing individual parts.
Does 2" make a real difference over 1.5"?
Yes, on flow restriction. A 2" valve lets a variable speed pump run at lower RPM for the same flow, which is where the energy savings come from. It only helps if the rest of your plumbing is not the bottleneck.
Is a gasket kit included?
This listing is the valve assembly. If you only need seals, ask us about the gasket kit for your specific valve instead.
