Dr. Dryden's Activate is an activated glass filter media designed to replace traditional sand, zeolite, or crushed glass in compatible swimming pool filters. The Grade 1 Fine media provides ultra-fine filtration, capturing particles down to approximately 4–5 microns for improved water clarity.
This 25 lb bag is used as the upper filtration layer, installed above Grade 2 Coarse media when loading the filter.

Dr. Dryden's Activate Grade 1 is designed to provide fine filtration in compatible sand-type pool filters. Its activated glass surface provides substantially more filtration surface area than conventional sand and carries a negative charge that helps attract and capture contaminants.
The A999008 configuration is specifically the Grade 1 Fine media in a 25 lb bag. When used as part of a layered Activate installation, Grade 2 Coarse is loaded on the bottom and Grade 1 Fine is installed above it. The required quantity depends on the filter's specified media capacity.
