The Super New Gizzmo is a pool skimmer winter protector designed to help protect in-ground skimmers from damage caused by freezing water. Its hollow design absorbs the expansion of ice inside the skimmer, helping reduce stress that could otherwise crack or damage the skimmer body.

This 16" long model features both 1-1/2" MPT and 2" MPT threads, allowing it to fit most large, deep in-ground pool skimmers.

Product Overview

The Super New Gizzmo installs into the threaded port of a pool skimmer during seasonal winterization. If water enters the skimmer and freezes, the hollow protector provides room for the expanding ice, helping protect the surrounding skimmer structure from freeze damage.

The MKW-6554 combines 1-1/2" and 2" tapered male pipe threads in a single unit, allowing it to accommodate varying skimmer ports without requiring separate protectors. Gizzmo developed the longer Super New configuration specifically for the deeper skimmer designs used on many in-ground pools.
