The Pentair 524000 IntelliCenter Pool and Spa Control System is the current generation load center with the Pool and Spa personality card, a salt ready transformer for an IntelliChlor cell, high power wireless and two Compool valve actuators. It replaces the 523687, 523686, 523967, 523968 and 523966 IntelliCenter systems with a single part number.

What It Controls

IntelliCenter runs the whole equipment pad from one panel and one app. Pump speeds, heater setpoints, pool and spa valve changeover, lighting shows, water features and the salt chlorine generator are all scheduled and controlled from the color touchscreen or remotely from the Pentair Pool app. Five relays are built in, expandable to ten with the relay expansion, and the salt ready transformer means an IntelliChlor cell plugs straight in with no separate power center.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the 524000 include the salt cell?

No. It includes the transformer that powers the cell. Add an IntelliChlor IC40, IC60 or Plus series cell to complete the salt system.

What is the difference between this and the old 523687?

Pentair consolidated the IntelliCenter load center line into the 524000. It carries the same Pool and Spa card, five relays and salt transformer as the 523687 and adds two Compool actuators and the high power wireless module. If you were quoted a 523687, 523686, 523967, 523968 or 523966, this is the current replacement.

Is this for a pool only, or pool and spa?

Pool and Spa. The personality card handles shared equipment between a pool and attached spa. For a pool only pad, a Pool Only IntelliCenter is the better fit.

How many pieces of equipment can it run?

Five relays out of the box. Each relay switches one piece of equipment such as a heater, light circuit, booster pump or water feature. Variable speed pumps communicate over RS-485 and do not use a relay. Add the relay expansion for up to ten.

Does it work with my existing IntelliChlor cell?

Yes. Any IntelliChlor IC20, IC40, IC60 or Plus series cell connects directly to the load center.

Can I control it from my phone?

Yes. The built in wireless connects to your home network and the Pentair Pool app on iOS or Android gives full control and monitoring from anywhere.

Do I need a professional to install it?

Yes. The load center is line voltage equipment with a 150 A breaker base and must be installed by a licensed electrician or qualified pool professional to meet code and to keep the Pentair warranty valid.

What is the warranty?

Pentair manufacturer warranty. Register the system with Pentair after installation and keep your receipt.
