ԱՊՐԱՆՔԻ ՈՒՂԵՑՈՒՅՑ
The Hayward C275S SwimClear Single Element Cartridge Filter is the largest single cartridge filter in the SwimClear line, with 275 square feet of pleated filter area in one element. It is rated for 200 GPM residential flow, carries the lowest head loss in its class, and needs only 18 inches of overhead clearance to pull the cartridge. No sand, no DE, no backwashing.
Key Features
- 275 sq ft in one cartridge: more dirt holding capacity than most multi element filters, so you clean it less often and the pool stays clear longer between services.
- 200 GPM residential flow: sized for large pools and 3 HP class variable speed pumps.
- Lowest head loss in its class: less resistance means a variable speed pump hits the same turnover at a lower speed, which shows up directly on the power bill.
- Easy-Lok ring: opens the tank by hand in seconds, no tools, no clamp band to wrestle.
- Low lift height: only 18 in of clearance to remove the cartridge, so it fits under eaves, benches and equipment enclosures where taller filters will not.
- Recessed gauge and air relief: the head can be set face down on the pad without damaging the gauge or fouling the seal.
- Comfort grip handles: molded into the tank body, so you never handle rough fiberglass.
- 2 in x 2.5 in union connections: drops into most existing pads as a direct retrofit.
- Glass reinforced copolymer tank: corrosion free, fresh or salt water.
- NSF certified. 3 year parts warranty.

Frequently Asked Questions
What size pool is the C275S for?
At 200 GPM residential flow it handles any residential pool. The practical reason to pick the 275 over the C200S is longer time between cleanings, not pool size. If you run a 2.5 to 3 HP variable speed pump or have heavy debris, go with the 275.
Do I ever need to backwash?
No. When the gauge reads 8 to 10 psi above the clean starting pressure, shut off the pump, open the Easy-Lok ring, lift the cartridge, hose it off and put it back. No water wasted.
How often will I clean the cartridge?
With 275 sq ft of area most pools go a full season between cleanings. Watch the gauge, not the calendar.
What is the replacement cartridge?
Hayward CX275XRE. A well maintained element lasts several seasons before it needs replacing.
Will it fit where my old filter was?
Almost always. The 2 in x 2.5 in unions match standard pad plumbing, the footprint is 18 x 18 in, and the filter needs only 18 in of clearance above the tank to pull the cartridge, less than any comparable filter. Hayward also publishes a StarClear Plus to SwimClear upgrade guide for direct swaps.
How is it different from the SwimClear multi element filters?
One cartridge instead of four. One part to rinse, nothing to align or stack, and lower head loss. The multi element C4030 and C5030 exist for commercial flow ratings and very large pools.
Does it work with a salt system?
Yes. The tank and internals are corrosion free and rated for fresh or salt water.
Does it include the cartridge?
Yes. The filter ships complete with the 275 sq ft element, pressure gauge and union connections.
What is the warranty?
3 year parts and 1 year labor from Hayward. Register the filter with Hayward after installation and keep your receipt.
Who should install it?
A pool professional is recommended. The filter is a plumbing install with no electrical connection, but the unions must be glued and the pad plumbing sized for the flow.
